What we do
We are an established mineral and energy trading company specialising in metals, minerals and coal. Our experienced team facilitates the sourcing, trading and supply of resources from mines directly to our clients. This ensures reliable delivery and enhanced quality control at every step as we serve our clients’ specific needs. Our years of experience in the African minerals and energy sector have allowed us to access a broad variety of minerals and metals from selected suppliers across the continent. Through our enhanced distribution system, we supply our clients in Asia and Europe with the raw materials required to fuel their industrial and energy operations.
To ensure efficient delivery at competitive prices, our team will oversee the entire acquisition process keeping our clients updated at every step. Our clients can depend on direct delivery of time-sensitive shipments that allow their operations to run smoothly.
We also work closely with suppliers of mineral products, often providing marketing and logistics services, as well as short to mid-term capital, to companies looking to grow their businesses.
Our leadership
Ryan Moss
Executive Director
Ryan worked as the Mine Manager for Nama Copper Resources in South Africa, and as Operations Manager for Zambian Demolition and Reliable de Mozambique. Mazule benefits from his on-the-ground operational management experience as it looks to develop its own projects in the mining and reprocessing sector. Ryan has a Diploma in Business Management and Entrepreneurship from the University of South Africa.
Sean Rowan
Chief Executive Officer
Sean joined Mazule in May 2023, having previously spend 14 years at Grindrod Limited where he was responsible for the commercial department of the Grindrod Ports and Terminals business as well as establishing the Mauritius trading division. Over the previous decade, Sean has managed the movement of bulk commodities across various Southern African regions, including the sourcing, transport and port handling functions. His market knowledge and experience across multiple commodity types across the Southern African logistics region, combined with his trading acumen has resulted in Mazule re-positioning itself for further material growth in the domestic logistics and supply chain space.
Sonja de Villiers
Head of Logistics
Sonja joined Mazule in Cape Town in December 2018. She has more than 15 years experience handling logistics in the iron, chrome and manganese industry, and worked for well-known companies such as Metalmin Worldwide Logistics and Gunvor. She oversees the logistics function and team.
Malcolm Campbell
Chief Operating Officer
Prior to joining Mazule, Malcolm was the Chief Operating Officer for Kombat Copper Inc. He has held various COO, CEO and GM roles in mining across Africa over the past 35 years with a 20 year tenure at Anglo Coal. He brings deep coal knowledge across the continent and experience in mining operations to his role at Mazule. Malcolm is a Professional Certified Mining Engineer and a member of the South African Institute of Mining and Metallurgy and the South African Colliery Managers Association - having served on the Council for two terms. He holds a B.Sc. in Mining Engineering from the University of Witwatersrand.
